Prenatal Doula Service
My prenatal support services are designed to provide mothers with the education and resources they need to prepare for childbirth and early motherhood.
Think of a doula as a resource you and your partner can rely on throughout pregnancy helping you with a birth plan, , labor, birth, and beyond. A doula can provide physical, emotional, and informational support in many ways:
Visit 1: Foundations + Birth Planning (1-2 hrs)
• Review of your health history and birth preferences
• Birth Plan Creation or Review: Individualized written plan clarifying your goals for labor and birth
• Education on the normal progression of natural labor
o Body changes
o Nutritional needs of you and your baby
o Baby development
o Keeping your body healthy and strong
o Stress relief techniques pre- and post-natal techniques
• Discussion of common interventions and how to navigate them
Visit 2: Hands-On Preparation (2-3 hrs)
• Guided practice of labor positions and movement
• Comfort measures (breathing, relaxation, counter-pressure)
• Partner coaching and role clarity
On-Call Support (37 Weeks to start of labor)
• Your doula is available 24/7 for guidance and early labor support by phone
• Sometimes short visits during early labor are offered, but the doula may go home if labor slows/stops or if the family is doing well on their own after getting settled.
• Ongoing communication as labor begins and progresses
